A NUMBER of Saints who suffered season-ending injuries in 2013 will be ready to attack pre-season training when the players return to the club at the end of November.

Young guns Arryn Siposs, Tom Simpkin, Jack Newnes and Tom Lee all underwent post-season surgery for impact injuries.

Siposs in particular will enter his fourth pre-season campaign after injuring his shoulder during the Saints’ round 19 clash with Brisbane at the Gabba.

Head Coach Scott Watters said Siposs could use his injury as a catalyst to take his training to another level.

“The challenge is in front of Arryn to take his training to another level.

“Arryn, like every young player on our list that is starting to emerge, will need to prepare at an elite standard to gain selection.

“We’ve given Arryn and a number of players every opportunity to be able to reach high standards this pre-season.”

A number of players went into post-season surgery for minor operations to clean up their joints so they are feeling right come November.

Daniel Markworth was unable to compete this season after a knee reconstruction while Terry Milera, and Sam Fisher were sidelined for the second half of the year with an ankle and toe complaint respectively.
