St Kilda development coach and Sandringham assistant Paul Hudson spoke to SAINTS.com.au about every player who took the field for Sandringham in its loss to Port Melbourne on Saturday.
Tom Hickey
Played mainly in the ruck with time forward. He had 11 touches and had opportunities.
Tom Simpkin
He laid four tackles playing up forward and showed a real intent to tackle. He used the ball quite well. He is a strong body and kicked 1.1 while also spending a bit of time down back.
Blake Acres
Blake predominantly played on the wing and found himself back at times due to the game plan. He also had a good defensive impact and he is a strong body. He had 18 possessions in his first game back after time off.
Brodie Murdoch
Brodie had 17 touches and laid a couple of tackles. He needs to generate some more ball and could have kicked more than his one goal. He had a serviceable game.
Tom Curren
Tom had 28 touches and three tackles. He had a chance for a couple of goals.

Sam Fisher
Chips was good for three quarters before spending some time forward in the last quarter. He is still building his match fitness but will benefit from the run. It was pleasing to see him get through.

Jason Holmes
He set us up and got us going at stoppages. There was one centre bounce in the third quarter where he jumped over the top and got the ball going our way. That has been the pleasing part about him. He has hardly been beaten in the ruck this year. He also pushed forward and had a bit of presence there. That is another part of his game where he has improved.
Arryn Siposs
Arryn hurt his shoulder in the second quarter. Until then he looked quite lively when he was on the ground.
Beau Maister
Beau was really up and about. Up to half time he kicked two goals and had five marks up to right on half-time. He put in great effort and kicked straight. He did all the things we asked him to do until he got injured.
Josh Bruce
Josh was probably our best player on the ground. He had 10 marks and six shots at goal. Unfortunately he only kicked two goals but he had a good day. He was taking on contests with aggression and eyes on the footy. He put pressure on and used the ball well.

Josh Saunders
Josh had 21 possessions and three tackles. He didn’t impact the scoreboard. It was quite a sound game for him but with a few tweaks to his game he could have been more damaging.
Nathan Wright
Wrighty had a hit to the head early in the third quarter. He had seven touches and a tackle until then. He always provides a good contest but unfortunately he had to come from the ground.
Spencer White
From an offensive perspective he had a big impact. He had 14 touches, seven marks and kicked 1.2. He also laid two tackles but there are still a couple of things to work on for him to have as much impact on a game as he can.

DEVELOPMENT TEAM
Joe Baker-Thomas
Joe spent time at both ends of the ground in his first game back after missing a couple of weeks. His football education is still coming along.
Lewis Pierce
Lewy had a solid game in the ruck and also did well when he pushed forward. He was pretty good around the ground and also linked up in defence.
