ST KILDA has made three changes to the team that lost to the Western Bulldogs last week, re-introducing Nathan Wright, Josh Saunders and Cam Shenton to the senior fold.

While Shenton has been an important part of the team for the majority of the past three months, Saunders’ and Wright’s selections come off the back of extended periods in the VFL.

Wright in particular has been forced to earn his recall, following a broken leg against Adelaide in round four which sidelined him for 11 weeks.

Since then, the tough back-flanker has come through the development league, been concussed in the VFL, and played a number of lockdown roles for the Sandringham Zebras.

"Wrighty had an excellent first half and wasn't quite as damaging in the second, but was still a valuable player for us," Development coach Paul Hudson told SAINTS.com.au earlier this week in his VFL player breakdown.

"He looks better with every game he plays after injury and he's got that dash and pace back."

Saunders’ was omitted following St Kilda’s loss to Geelong in round 13, and set about rebuilding his game to the point where he’s become a prolific possession-winner for the Zebras over the past two games.

Experienced defender Jarryn Geary has been taken off the long-term injury list but will come back via the VFL, while Sam Dunell, Clint Jones and Brodie Murdoch have been named as the emergencies.

Murdoch was the only unforced omission, with Josh Bruce and Jack Billings both injuring themselves on Sunday and having being ruled out for the season this week.
