St Kilda Football Club congratulates Nathan Burke on his appointment to the AFL Match Review Panel for the 2015 season.
Club President Peter Summers said Burke had a wealth of knowledge following a 323-game career with the Saints and would be a solid addition in this role.
Summers also announced that after seven years as a Director on the St Kilda Board, Burke will stand down from that role.
"Nathan has served the club as a board member since late 2007 and we thank him for his commitment and loyalty to the Saints," Summers said.
"He has been there during good times and tough times and, through it all, been a valuable contributor and a great club person."
Burke said he would miss being involved with the Saints but was very confident in the future direction of the club.
"I take comfort that we have really talented people in place right across the club - whether it be the players, coaches or administration - and when you have good people in the right roles you are bound to succeed," Burke said.
"My new position is an exciting opportunity to play a role, to a degree, in shaping the way the game is played. I see the Match Review Panel as a pivotal part of the league and, when offered the chance to be part of it, was really keen to explore a new role in footy."
Summers said the Saints would be approaching candidates with suitable business and football experience over coming weeks to find a replacement for Burke.
