ST KILDA has confirmed Dean Anderson’s appointment to its Board of Directors, replacing Nathan Burke who stepped down earlier this year.

Anderson played 67 games for the Saints from 1993 to 1996 after arriving from Hawthorn where he played 83 games across five years, including the 1989 and 1991 premierships.

He has since been involved as a senior coach with Amateur clubs Caulfield Grammarians and Old Scotch.

Anderson’s extensive football history is complemented with a successful business career, having worked in banking for the past 25 years.

He has spent the past 10 years with HSBC, currently holding the position of Senior Global Relationship Manager for Large Corporates.

Part of his role with HSBC had involved sponsorship management, with Anderson working closely in that capacity with his former club Hawthorn from 2005 to 2012.

Anderson said he was excited about his appointment.

“I am honoured to be joining the St Kilda Board of Directors,” Anderson said.

“I have a great passion for the Saints and believe I bring a broad range of skills and expertise to this role.”

St Kilda President Peter Summers said Anderson was a welcome addition to St Kilda’s diverse and talented board.

“Dean possesses an in-depth knowledge of the football and financial worlds and we welcome him back to the St Kilda Football Club in an official capacity,” Summers said.

“Our club has assembled a skilled and experienced Board of Directors consisting of people with strong backgrounds in sport and business and Dean is the perfect addition to this group.”

Anderson will join Summers as well as Paul Kirk, Danni Roche, Russell Caplan, Andrew Thompson and Liz Dawson on the St Kilda board.
