SANDRINGHAM has gone down to an experienced Port Melbourne outfit in its second practice match of the pre-season at North Port Oval this afternoon.
It was an entertaining first term with lots of free flowing attacking football on show from both sides, with Port just edging out the Zebras at the first break.

Port Melbourne took charge in the second, despite Jack Billings' best efforts, leaving Sandringham with a 27-point deficit at half-time.
The home side continued to assert their dominance in third term, kicking nine unanswered goals after the Zebras put one through to start the third term.

Though the result was out of their reach, the Zebras continued to fight and won the last quarter seven goals to four following some stern words from St Kilda Development coach and Sandringham coach Paul Hudson.
Following the match, Hudson said the result wasn't as important as the performance and a clean bill of health.
"We felt we got our structures right and gearing up towards round one pretty well," Hudson told SAINTS.com.au.
"The only thing was we had a lot of talls which affected our ability to have the running numbers across the ground but we were happy with the efforts of our boys.

"Paddy McCartin competed well and is going to take some time to develop, Tom Hickey was good going forward as well as his tap work around the ground, and Jack Billings had a lot of the footy (32 disposals) which was really pleasing also.
"We gave Mitch Brown and Clinton Jones a rest after playing with Essendon in the NAB Challenge but they'll play next week against Frankston which will be a dress rehearsal for round one."
Sandringham will play its last match of the pre-season next Saturday against the Frankston Dolphins.
