Sandringham senior coach and St Kilda development coach Paul Hudson runs a ruler over the individual performance of the Saints-listed players following Sunday's loss to Port Melbourne.
MATCH REPORT: Sandringham go down to Port Melbourne
Tom Lee
We played Tom Lee down back this week and he ended the game with six marks and offensively worked hard.
Brenton Payne
Payney is still learning the difference between playing his role and playing the game. There is a difference there and occasionally he gets caught in between both of those.
Hugh Goddard
Hugh beat his first opponent and then we moved him onto another more dangerous forward and he beat him too. He looked strong in the contest and worked hard and had good intensity. Hugh will be a good player for a long time.

Tom Hickey
Tommy probably broke even in the taps, was good around the ground and also kicked three goals when he pushed forward.
Blake Acres
Blake really imposed himself on the game. He had 20 possessions and seven tackles for the day playing on the wing. The pleasing part was the way he ran out the game and hit the scoreboard – he kicked two goals.
Paddy McCartin
Paddy played well all day and really well in the last. He provided a target, got off his man up the ground and finished with six marks and four tackles. His defensive acts were excellent.
Josh Saunders
Josh got plenty of the ball and had more handballs than kicks. He kicked a good front and square goal and was involved in lots of contests around the ground.
Daniel McKenzie
From a St Kilda trademark perspective Dan was probably our best player. For the second week in a row he laid seven tackles and really cracked in. He uses his legs and takes the game on. We won’t discourage that, in fact we love it, but when he does run and carry he needs to be slightly tidier with his disposal at times.
Behind the guernsey: Daniel McKenzie
Lewis Pierce
Lewis was one of three ruckman playing for us so was on and off and then we chucked him down forward. His tap work was good and we all know he’s athletic for a big man.
Jack Billings
Jack got his hands on it a lot. 32 touches and a real influence on the contest was a pleasing return for a bloke who hadn’t played in a few weeks. He got back in defence and helped out well too.
Joe Baker-Thomas
Joe acquitted himself quite well. There were signs of definite improvement because he’s stronger than he was last year. Concentration and knowing what to do in certain situations is the next challenge for him but he’s improving quickly.

Jason Holmes
Holmesy played the majority of the game up forward. It wasn’t easy up there but he still managed to kick a goal and lay some tackles too.
Spencer White
Spencer impacted the game early and late. His defensive acts are getting better every week which is really pleasing. What we need from Spencer now is a good four-quarter effort. He’s obviously capable, because he was good early and in the fourth quarter.
