Sandringham senior coach and St Kilda development coach Paul Hudson runs a ruler over the individual performance of the Saints-listed players following Sunday's qualifying final defeat.

MATCH REPORT: Gallant Zebras fall just short

VFL STATS: Qualifying Final

RELATED: Hudson named VFL coach of the year

Luke Delaney

Luke played forward and conditions weren’t conducive for big marking. He was relatively quiet but competed well.

Tom Hickey

Tom had an OK game.  He didn’t impose himself physically as he has done in the past. He played in the ruck and kicked a nice snap goal as well.

Tom Simpkin

Tommy had a really good game. He tackled really well and played most of the game in defence, although he did push forward and kick a goal. He cracks in every week for us and always gives 100 per cent effort.

Ahmed Saad

Ahmed had a relatively quiet game. He kicked a goal but didn’t take a mark which was unlike him. He copped close attention from the Williamstown defenders which he fought through. The conditions were difficult and I'm sure he will rebound this week.

Eli Templeton

Eli had nine tackles playing up forward and along the wing. He sustained a minor corky which hampered his running ability for the second half of the day.

Cameron Shenton

Cam had a good game with 23 possessions. He could have been used more late in the game by his teammates as an offensive weapon. He gave us good attacking moves with the wind, and defended well when we were kicking into it.

Daniel Markworth

Daniel started really well. He had eight possessions in the first quarter. He copped a knock to the foot which was unfortunate and his second half wasn’t the same as his first half. We missed his run and carry, but early on he was showing some excellent signs.

Blake Acres

Blake had 23disposals and played through the game under some duress. He played on the ball and at times on the wing.

Arryn Siposs

Arryn played in the midfield for the majority of the game. He was tremendous with 11 tackles and had a really strong last term. He had five scoring shots with two goals. He was close to best on ground.

Josh Saunders

Josh was very good and alongside with Arryn, played a really important role for us. His run and leg speed was terrific. 27 touches was an excellent return. He is a very unselfish player and always brings others into the game.

Daniel McKenzie

Daniel improved from the previous game. He cracked in with some tackles and built as the game progressed. I’m excited going into the final this week to see him take another step up.

Lewis Pierce

Lewis wasn’t 100 per cent fit with a minor illness. He took a couple of strong marks but he did well to get through the game and be competitive in the ruck.
