St Kilda defender Hugh Goddard is recovering well after feeling the effects of heat exhaustion in Monday’s training session on Maroochydore.
The Saints flew up to the Sunshine Coast yesterday to commence a week-long training camp and undertook an intense session on Monday morning.

Goddard was taken to a nearby hospital after feeling the brunt of the Queensland heat towards the end of the training session but is on the mend.
“Hugh Goddard went at it pretty hard. He suffered the effects of the sun and he has had to be taken to hospital just to be monitored,” GM Football Performance Jamie Cox said.
“We can fortunately say he is going OK. He will stay in tonight but he’s doing really well which is pleasing.”
Cox said Goddard would have no lasting effects from the heat exhaustion,
“It appears to be fine. It wasn’t great to start and we had to take him to hospital just to make sure he was going OK but he is responding really well which is pleasing.”
