St Kilda has been forced to make three changes at the selection table due to injury, although Nick Riewoldt and Paddy McCartin have been named to face Hawthorn in Tasmania on Saturday.

Dylan Roberton was the only casualty to emerge from last weekend’s win over Collingwood due to a knee injury, and he has been joined on the sidelines by Jimmy Webster (quad) and Luke Dunstan (hamstring) who have both suffered injuries at training.

Both Riewoldt and McCartin were forced to sit out the second-half of the 29-point win against the Magpies due to separate concussion incidents just before the main break. The pair has recovered and been cleared to travel to the apple isle, with both Riewoldt and McCartin set to support fellow key forward Josh Bruce in attack.

Midfield duo Blake Acres and Eli Templeton have been recalled to Alan Richardson’s side after being dropped following the Saints’ round one loss to Port Adelaide, along with key defender Tom Lee who earns his first opportunity since Round 14, 2014.

Lee, 25, has spent the best part of the last 12 months transforming into a key defender after spending his previous life at the other end of the ground in an attacking role that the Saints recruited him for in 2012.

Acres earns another opportunity at senior level following a standout fortnight for Sandringham. The athletic midfielder collected 33 possessions, seven clearances and five inside 50s in the VFL to put his hand firmly up for a recall to St Kilda’s 22.

Templeton returns back to his home state in strong form in the reserves, after he was one of Paul Hudson’s best players last weekend, collecting 30 disposals, nine inside 50s and five clearances.

Having re-signed with St Kilda for a further four seasons during the week, last year’s leading goal kicker Bruce will play his 50th game in Launceston.

The former Greater Western Sydney key defender has developed into one of the premier young key forwards in the competition in the last 12 months, on the back of his breakout 2015 campaign.

With a season-high 19 marks inside 50 last weekend, St Kilda will be buoyed by the presence of Riewoldt and McCartin, and look to continue to build on the effort against Collingwood, which was carved from more efficient ball use in the forward half of the ground. And given the class in Hawthorn's back half, the Saints will need to be methodical with their ball use to penetrate the Hawks.
