St Kilda FC has secured a 2017 first round draft pick and two 2016 second round picks (currently 23 and 36), in an exchange completed with Hawthorn FC late today.
As part of the trade, the Saints will send selection 10 in the 2016 AFL Draft, as well as a fourth round pick (number 68), to the Hawks.
“This deal allows us to retain a first round draft pick, albeit for potential use in twelve months’ time,” Chief Operating Officer Ameet Bains said.

“The most pleasing aspect of the exchange is that it allows us to re-enter this year’s draft with two selections in the second round.
"This trade also gives us the flexibility to explore the possibility during the remainder of the trade period of coming back into the first round in 2016," he said.
