St Kilda has selected Oakleigh Chargers midfielder Ed Phillips with the club's final selection in Friday night’s NAB AFL Draft at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney.
The Saints used pick No. 56 on the Caulfield Grammar product, adding the 18-year-old to the two selections the club made earlier in the night – Ben Long (No. 25) and Josh Battle (No. 39).
Phillips played 13 games in the TAC Cup this season where he was utilised in a handful of roles.
He began the year at half-back, spent time up forward across the year, but was predominantly used through the middle of the ground where he helped the Chargers to the penultimate weekend of the year.
Renowned for his running capacity and ability to win his own ball, Phillips is the younger brother of young Collingwood midfielder, Tom, who debuted in black and white in 2016.
