St Kilda has selected mature-age North Ballarat utility Rowan Marshall with pick No. 10 in the 2016 Rookie Draft on Monday afternoon.
After the Saints recruited Ben Long (No. 25), Josh Battle (No. 39) and Ed Phillips (No. 56) at the National Draft on Friday night, St Kilda finalised their list for 2017 by adding Marshall.
The 21-year-old established himself in the VFL this season, playing 18 senior games where he was named in North Ballarat’s best players on nine occasions, including four best on ground performances.
At 201cm, the versatile key position player won the Roosters best first-year player award in his first season in the VFL in 2015, but was starved of opportunity in the final year of North Ballarat’s alignment with North Melbourne.
The Portland product relocated to Ballarat in 2013 to play with the North Ballarat Rebels in the TAC Cup.
Marshall played 25 games across two seasons at the Rebels, including 17 in his top-age year, where he finishing runner-up in the best and fairest.
