Coming to St Kilda with an abundance of experience in the AFL and VFL coaching spheres, Damian Carroll will work closely with next generation of Saints as the club’s Head of Learning and Development.
After an illustrious 233-game career for Springvale, where he was named in the 1990’s VFL Team of the Decade, Carroll would move into the coaching realm, heading up Gippsland Power and then Box Hill, where he won the 2013 VFL premiership.
Already associated with Hawthorn through Box Hill, Carroll moved into the Hawks’ AFL program at the end of 2013.
The former midfielder was appointed as head coach of the development academy, before moving into an assistant coaching role in 2015 - where he worked across the forward and midfield groups, as well as player development until 2019.
Now, following a year at Collingwood in 2020, Carroll comes to the Saints to help guide the club’s youth as they kickstart their AFL careers.
