St Kilda will take the Saturday night stage at Marvel Stadium ahead of its AAMI Community Series match with Essendon on 5 March.

The game will serve as the club's official lead-in to its Round 1 encounter against Collingwood, which will be held at the same venue on Friday 18 March.

Ticketing information for the 2022 AAMI Community Series will be confirmed in due course.

Brett Ratten's Saints will also play an unofficial practice match against Carlton prior to the 2022 AFL Season, with the date and venue yet to be confirmed.

Each team can play one pre-season match before the AAMI Community Series – on either of the last two weekends in February – with clubs deciding on venue, time, date and the format of each game, including number of players, number of quarters and quarter length.
