St Kilda will field a club-record seven Indigenous players for Sunday's game against Hawthorn, with debutant Marcus Windhager earning his stripes to write the side into the Saints' record books.
Windhager, of the Ben Lomond Tribe which is Plangermaireener Nation in Tasmania, will join fellow Indigenous Saints Bradley Hill, Jade Gresham, Paddy Ryder, Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera, Jarrod Lienert and Ben Long in the starting line-up, with the latter named in the 22 after coming on as the medical sub last week.
St Kilda's seven Indigenous players on Sunday afternoon falls just one short of the VFL/AFL record, held by Fremantle with eight players in Round 10, 2017.
Ben Paton, Mason Wood, Daniel McKenzie, Dan Butler and Jack Hayes join newcomers Ryan Byrnes, Leo Connolly and Tom Highmore on the extended bench, while Jack Higgins will miss with concussion.
St Kilda will also play for the 23rd annual Blue Ribbon Cup in honour and memory of all Australian Police Officers that have fallen in the line of duty.
The Saints' final line-up for Round 4 against Hawthorn will be confirmed tomorrow evening at 5:00pm AEST.
