Jack Steele is in line to make his senior return as early as this week, with the captain a test for Saturday night’s prime-time fixture with Sydney.
Steele suffered an AC injury five weeks ago against Geelong, with successful surgery and subsequent rehabilitation putting him in the frame to return this week.
The two-time All-Australian could be accompanied by Daniel McKenzie, who missed last week’s match with concussion.
Mitch Owens, who was also concussed against Brisbane, remains under concussion protocols.
Jack Bytel (foot) and Oscar Adams (back) and Jarryn Geary (shoulder) continue their individual rehabilitation programs, hoping for a return to footy in the coming weeks, while Dan Hannebery has commenced team training this week.
