For the first time in the club’s history, St Kilda has surpassed 60,000 members.

The milestone, which was announced to hundreds of fans by club captains Jack Steele and Hannah Priest at this morning’s Captain’s Run, marks the fifth consecutive year of membership growth for the club.

“This is such an historic moment for our club,” Chief Executive Officer Matt Finnis said.

“As has been for tradition for nearly 150 years, the Saints faithful have stuck tight and shown their support in record numbers.

“As part of this record, we have also surpassed our previous AFLW membership tally, seeing us remain amongst the most supported women’s teams in the league.

“The club is building in many respects - from the first-class facilities at RSEA Park that we call home to our incredible corporate partners who have come along for the journey – and this has all been made possible on the foundation of our members and their unbridled loyalty.

Despite the uncertainties of the last few years, our membership numbers have gone from strength to strength, so this achievement is theirs to share and be proud of.

“While we’re desperately unhappy with the way the men’s season is most likely to finish, we’re united as one to do everything we can to review, evaluate and implement the necessary changes to ensure next season ends differently.

“60,000 members is a wonderful milestone and gives us great strength going into our 150th year and a foundation on which to build future success.”
