Here's just some of the things to look forward to in 2023...
150-year celebrations
It will be a year of celebrating everything that makes the Saints unique in 2023 as the club embarks on its 150th year.
A special Round 3 MCG blockbuster against Essendon will headline the celebrations as a sea of red, white and black descend on the home of footy.
Fast footy
Ross Lyon and his coaching group are hoping to embrace the modern style of chaos footy, believing the running capacity of the playing list will lead to a free-flowing game style.
Saints fans could be treated to some exciting matches this season as the team look to back themselves in and create plenty of scoring opportunities.
Season opener
You won’t have to wait around to watch the Saints in action this year, with a home season opener locked in against Fremantle at Marvel Stadium on 19 March.
The clash will be the first test for the new football program and a great opportunity to make a statement against last season’s semi-finalists.
New draftees
A wave of exciting young talent has entered the club over the last few seasons and the latest crop is no exception.
Mattaes Phillipou, James Van Es, Olli Hotton, Isaac Keeler and Angus McLennan will all hope to put their cases forward for senior action in 2023.
Free agent recruit Zaine Cordy will also press for a Saints debut as a key position option.
The Boss
Ross is back, and that means the return of ‘Ross-isms’.
Press conferences may not always be the most exciting aspect of the footy calendar, but with the Boss at the helm, expect that to change.

More footy
With the addition of Gather Round, the Saints will now play a total of 23 games in the home-and-away season.
The Round 5 Adelaide Oval clash against Collingwood comes as an extra fixture on top of the usual 22-game schedule.
Nothing better than more footy!
Returning troops
It’s been long roads to recovery for Jack Hayes and Nick Coffield, but fingers will be crossed for both to make big impacts in 2023.
Hayes burst onto the scene with a scintillating 3-goal debut in Round 1 last season, while Coffield was enjoying his strongest pre-season to date before going down.
Hunter Clark will also be another hoping for a clean run of health after a string of bad luck on the injury front.
"It was a low point in my life doing the injury, then a high point getting another two years."

Jack Hayes is eyeing a big 2023 after a whirlwind debut season.
Mullet-off
Jack Sinclair’s rule as the best mullet in Moorabbin is under threat after the addition of draftee James Van Es, whose flowing locks have made their way down from Ballarat in style.
Academy graduate Angus McLennan is also sporting a retro cut, but has some growing to do to catch the pair.

HOME stretch
The Saints will play five consecutive games against Victorian teams at Marvel Stadium between Rounds 19-23 before finishing the home-and-away season at the Gabba against Brisbane.
The stretch includes matches against North Melbourne, Hawthorn, Richmond, Carlton and Geelong.
Bring it on.
