Jarryd Allen is the latest Saint to wear number 36 for the Club, a number that has been worn by a range of players at the start of long careers for the Saints.

Generally a player has worn it for a time in the early part of their career and gone on to a lower number as the years have passed.

Ken Mulhall wore the jumper in his first season in 1946 and went on to become a fine ruckman and centre half forward in a career that spanned 134 games from 1946 to 1957. Mulhall was also vice-captain of the side in his final year.

Perhaps the most famous player to wear No. 36 would be Jeff Moran, who had it in his first two seasons in 1965 and 1966. He wore it in the 1966 Grand Final and a brilliant running goal in the final term was crucial to helping the Saints get up in the epic game. Moran played 155 games from 1965 to 1974.

St Kilda's latest recruit to wear the No. 36 guernsey, Jarryd Allen, was drafted in the 2006 AFL NAB Draft at pick number 59.
