Four new faces will take to the field on Sunday afternoon as St Kilda embarks on its milestone campaign under Ross Lyon, headlined by first-round draftee Mattaes Phillipou.
The highly anticipated draftee will be flanked by fellow debutant Anthony Caminiti up forward, while yesterday's confirmed starters Liam Stocker and Zaine Cordy will make their first senior appearances in club colours.
Meanwhile, young midfielder Jack Bytel has been named in the starting line-up for the first time since Round 23, 2021.
Fellow on-baller Marcus Windhager (hand) has been left out of the starting line-up after failing to meet fitness requirements following surgery just over a week ago, while time has similarly beaten Tim Membrey (knee) and Seb Ross (calf) for a Round 1 berth.
Tom Campbell, Cooper Sharman, Ben Paton and Windhager have been selected as emergencies for this weekend, with one of the four to be selected as the medical sub an hour before the bounce.
St Kilda will open its 2023 campaign against Fremantle at Marvel Stadium on Sunday 19 March, commencing at 4:40pm.
NEW: Caminiti (debut), Cordy (new), Phillipou (debut), Stocker (new)
