St Kilda Football Club mourns the loss of former board and life member, Sheena Ferguson, who has passed away after a long illness.
Sheena was a dedicated Saints fan who began as a red, white and black supporter on the terraces in the famed Animal Enclosure and became a stalwart within the club.
She was part of the supporter movement that embraced and supported the arrival of Lindsay Fox as chairman in 1979, having organised a petition asking for change in the administration, and was a founder of the Sinners supporter group that did so much voluntary work around the club during that era.
Sheena broke new ground when she eventually became the club’s first female board member from 1987 to 1996. She also worked at the club in the marketing department before being made a Life Member in 1991.
Sheena’s husband Louis and their children were steadfast volunteers, always willing to lend a hand and our sympathies are extended to them.
Vale, Saint Sheena.
