Dan Butler is tracking ahead of schedule following ankle surgery late last month, however may face a delayed start to his fifth season as a Saint as he builds up training loads over the next few weeks.
The small forward will resume running this coming Friday with the intention to re-join the main training group in just over a fortnights’ time.
Butler will be joined by James Van Es in recovering from ankle surgery, with the defender undergoing surgery to remove a screw from an earlier operation which was causing discomfort.
Brad Crouch, Tim Membrey and Max King all had pre-arranged lighter sessions at today’s open training, while Dougal Howard continues to tailor his workload as part of ongoing management.
Meanwhile, Jack Hayes (knee) will step up his training load next week as Anthony Caminiti (hamstring awareness) closes in on completing his conditioning block and a return to main training.
