St Kilda Football Club has long been committed to creating an environment that welcomes, celebrates and provides career-enriching opportunities to staff and players of all genders.
In 2020, the club reviewed the representation, engagement and remuneration of male and female staff. In response to this review, the club developed its first Gender Action Plan. This plan has resulted in a steady increase in the number of women starting work at the Saints, equality in engagement for men and women, an increase in the promotion of female employees and a decrease in the gender pay gap.
In 2024, the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) will make key gender equality statistics from the previous year publicly available for organisations with more than 100 employees. The Saints support this initiative as an essential step to continue to drive gender equality at a national level.
WGEA 2023 Key Gender Results: St Kilda Football Club v Sports and Recreation Industry.
The 2023 results include all male and female players and staff as defined by WGEA. A key influencing factor to the difference in the club’s median base salary result is the disparity between male and female player remuneration. This is determined at an industry level as relevant Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) define player remuneration.
St Kilda Football Club continues its unwavering commitment to progressing equality for all genders. At each level and across all parts of the club, the Saints actively focus on building a workplace culture that attracts, develops and celebrates female and non-binary staff and players.
