Northern Bullants: McKenzie, Jorgensen, Chubb
Zak Jones
30 disposals, four tackles, one goal
Zak was the most influential player on the ground during Saturday’s match. Strong in the contest and repetitively helped bring the ball forward. Played like you’d expect from a quality AFL midfielder.
Lance Collard
2 goals, nine disposals, two tackles
Lance had some good chase efforts with opportunities for consistency still present. He went through a few centre bounces in the seconds half where he looked lively which is good weapon to be able to throw at the opposition going forward. He finished the match with four shots at goal and six overall score involvements.
Paddy Dow
22 disposals, four marks, three tackles
Paddy played his first game for the club on the weekend and brought a tough brand of footy. He was really lively around the ball and had a great step on him. Good to get him through a full game.
Isaac Keeler
21 disposals, 14 kicks, nine marks
Another progressive game for Isaac. His work in the air was strong with six spoils and nine marks. He played his most consistent game for the year, standing up as the lone key defender.
Jack Hayes
18 disposals, three goals, seven hitouts
Very strong performance by Hayes. Overall, five shots at goals, ten score involvements and three contested marks for the big fella. He competed strong in the ruck when we needed him also. Great game by Jack.
Angus Hastie
25 disposals, seven marks, three tackles
Hastie performed well on the wing after a quarter at AFL level the night before and a flight back to Melbourne in the morning. He ran hard to open spaces for our ball movement and provided good support in the contest.
Arie Schoenmaker
27 disposals, 23 kicks, seven marks
Saturday was Arie’s best game for the year. Starting with physicality and intensity around the contest, he competed well with five score involvements as a back so clearly still brought his weapon to the table, good progression shown this week.
Matt Allison
12 disposals, three marks, two tackles
First game back for Fruity in six weeks off an MCL. He performed strongly, competing well against some strong defenders whilst getting involved in our team attack. Good to have him back.
Ben Paton
22 disposals, eight marks, four tackles
First game back for Pato, he was strong in the contest, took the game forward for us well and did his usually proactive position on defence. Great to have him through for his first game back.
Tom Campbell
51 hitouts, 16 disposals, four tackles
Colossal as a ruckman, he competed really hard, and gave our mids best use. Really solid performance. Tom stuck to our structure and didn’t take his foot off the pedal at any point despite the strong lead.

Angus McLennan
11 disposals, seven kicks, seven marks
McLennan put another solid game in. His running power and ability to play our team defence system is increasing each week. Couple of moments with ball in hand to review but defensively going well.
Liam O’Connell
15 disposals, five marks, two tackles
Good game by Liam, he was involved in our attack a bit more this week as a high half-back, bringing his strengths to play with his run and carry. We work through developmental aspects each week, and he’s been very proactive about making the tweaks required to build his repertoire on game day.
FOR THE ZEBRAS
Darby Hipwell
18 disposals, nine kicks, two tackles
Quiet game for Darby compared to his usual high standards. Still cracked in hard and helped take the ball forward. Looking forward to a bounce back from him next week.
Vincent Zagari
Nine disposals, four total clearances, one goal
Quiet game stats wise however he challenged his opponent well inside and was consistently first back defensively. Vinnie made a really strong ground ball in the defensive half to take us forward which personified his toughness at this level.
Tom Blamires
21 disposals, seven marks, four tackles
Historically a back and wing. Tom played high half forward, supported the stoppage and was involved with our attacking chains resulting in having multiple shots at goal. Straight kicking would have called his game off nicely.
Will Vesely
13 disposals, three goals, eight marks
Will’s first game for the year. He competed very strongly in the air with three contested marks, challenged the Northern Bullant defenders inside 50 and finished with five shots (3.2).
