Zak Jones

26 disposals, eight clearances, five marks

Jonesy had a solid day. A couple of opportunities to take us forward a little bit more, but he was strong in the contest and provides really good energy and buzz around the ball, which his teammates feed off.

Lance Collard

12 disposals, three goals, three tackles

Three goals from Lance. When he gets to really good spots that small forwards need to, he scores or he tackles. He needs to continually keep rocking up to the spots that are going to feed him, so we’re just after some consistency, but all in all a good showing.

Hunter Clark

Nine disposals, three clearances, one goal

Hunter was looking pretty good and hit the scoreboard well. He worked well with his teammates trying to get the ball forward for us before he was taken off through injury.

Paddy Dow

18 disposals, five clearances, five tackles

Second game back for Dowy. He looked to cover the ground a little bit more and have a bit more power with the ball in his hands. He has that burst of speed and it was another good one to get in the bank.

Arie Schoenmaker

27 disposals, six rebound-50s, six marks

Arie had some good moments where he was on his toes and ready to impact. He played a bit of a mixed role playing deep, in the middle and as a high half-back, so it’s a good learning opportunity to be exposed to different attacks. The same as Lance, we’re just after consistency of effort and physicality.

Matt Allison

Four disposals, two tackles

It probably wasn’t a huge game stats-wise before he got injured, but he provided a good link to connect with his teammates. Fingers crossed he’s ok and we can get some continuity back into him.

Ben Paton

18 disposals, eight marks, six inside-50s

Pato played well. He was really tough in the air, went back with the flight a few times and was clean. He had a breath about him to win the ball back for us defensively, so when he’s playing at his best he’s pressing up and being really assertive and aggressive. It was great to see him get through.

Tom Campbell

38 hit-outs, 17 disposals, eight clearances

Against the old mob, Tom battled really strongly and once again won the hit-outs convincingly. He was our highest first possession, clearances, hit-outs and hit-outs to advantage player; a quadruple double. He probably went away a little bit from what we wanted to in the second quarter, but he rectified that in the second half and his contest work was much improved.

Angus McLennan

16 disposals, six marks, four rebound-50s

It was a solid performance from Gus. He’s playing good system footy although it was a bit more about contest and stoppage this game on the weekend. He played on Eddie Ford and probably halved the battle, he’s reading the cues really well and trying to be really assertive. He’s just got to keep sticking to his process.

Max Heath

29 hit-outs, eight disposals, four tackles

Maxy returned well with a 30/70 split with TC between the ruck and forward. He had a really strong 10-minute period in the last quarter when Tommy was off the ground, and it was a mature and aggressive performance to compete and get the ball going for us when we were against it. We were +7 in clearances in the last quarter and he was a fair bit to do with that.

Cooper Sharman

17 disposals, eight intercepts, seven spoils

Sharmo played forward in the first half and then we needed some height down back in the second, and that was huge for us. He had eight intercept possessions, three contested marks and seven spoils which tells you he won his contests. To be thrown around like that and perform –  and only find out the day of the game he’d be playing there – was a great effort.

Liam O’Connell

14 disposals, five tackles, three marks

Best game for Liam over the weekend. We’re starting to see a brand being built around toughness, competitiveness and an ‘in your face’ sort of defence. We saw his speed with same chase down tackles and saw his power with his run and jump. He brought his traits out well on the weekend so we’re proud on seeing him improve.

Anthony Caminiti

10 disposals, three marks, one goal

Anthony started really strongly with a couple of contested marks in the first quarter. He was a good presence, tried really hard and although fading out when the game went on, if he turns his 1.3 into 3.1 it’s a better game.

FOR THE ZEBRAS

Blake Watson

21 disposals, nine tackles, seven clearances, two goals

Blake was huge. Darby Hipwell was out and Blake took that fourth midfielder role. Twelve contested possessions, nine tackles, seven clearances and two goals… he stood up in the moment when we needed him and he delivered strongly. A couple of efforts in the last quarter as well were huge. Really proud of him.

Tom Blamires

15 disposals, six inside-50s, two rebound-50s

Tommy played wing two weeks ago, a high half-forward last week, half-back and inside mid this week. He’s Mr Fix-It at the moment and got a really good ability to adjust to his role and perform in the moment. He had six inside-50s and we scored four goals from them, so he’s got good poise and finds good options inside-50.

Hugo Hall-Kahan

Nine disposals, four tackles, two inside-50s

Once again not a free-flowing game for a high half-forward, but Hugo impacted on the scoreboard and was a good leader for us. I think he’ll be better for the run after having a few weeks off with a broken hand.

Tarkyn O'Leary

Three disposals, two tackles, one clearance

Probably a quieter game for Tarkyn with the way the game was played. We’ll keep working with him to find ways to get him into the game when it’s a contest. He had a really big moment in the last quarter where he stuck a big tackle and didn’t let the ball out in our forward 50. It might not be your day, but you can have a moment.
