Emmelie Fiedler will make her AFLW debut this weekend as St Kilda takes on Essendon at Windy Hill, becoming the fourth new Saint to feature this season.
The 22-year-old is the most recent addition to the Saints' line-up, signing on as an injury replacement player in place of Beth Pinchin (ACL) only eight weeks before the 2024 AFLW season started.
Previously on Fremantle’s AFLW list, the 187cm ruck/tall had been plying her trade for East Fremantle in the WAFL Women's before the Saints came calling in July.
“Emmelie’s worked hard to earn her spot since she arrived. It’s a testament to her drive and dedication,” EGM of AFLW Tessie McManus said.
“We’re excited to see her take her opportunity this weekend and believe she will play an important role for us when we face Essendon."
The No. 50 follows this season's debutants in Charlotte Simpson, Paige Trudgeon and Rene Caris, who all featured in Week 1 against Gold Coast.
St Kilda will name its full team to face Essendon tonight at 6.20pm AEST.
