Tim Membrey will conclude his time at St Kilda after a decorated decade in red, white and black, with the key forward informed he will not receive a playing contract for the upcoming season.

Representing St Kilda in 178 matches for a 293-goal return, Membrey finishes his career as a Saint in 11th position on the club’s all-time goalkickers’ list, with three seasons as leading goalkicker (2016, 2017, 2019), as a respected leader with five seasons served in the leadership group — including two as co-vice-captain — and as a Life Member of the club.

The ‘Pride of Traralgon’ arrived at St Kilda as a delisted free agent from Sydney with one senior game to his name and went on to build a reputation for wearing his heart on his sleeve and carrying the side on his back on countless occasions in his new colours to win over the admiration of fans.

“On behalf of everyone here at St Kilda, we would like to sincerely thank Tim for his exceptional service over the past decade,” EGM Football David Misson said.

“Tim has been the definition of a heart and soul player throughout his time at the club, giving his absolute all on and off the field.

“As we look to expose our young forwards to more senior opportunities moving into 2025, this was a tough but ultimately necessary decision to make.

We wish Tim, wife Emily and children Wren and Beau all the best for whatever the future holds, and they leave forever part of the Saints.

Membrey said he was immensely proud of his journey in the red, white and black.

“The past ten years have been an incredible privilege,” Membrey said.

“I have loved being here at the club with the many teammates who I am proud to call friends by my side, and have felt supported by the Saints faithful every step of the way.

“I am excited for this new chapter with my family and will forever be grateful for their support across my career and into the future.”
