Mitchito Owens will seek further medical advice after injuring his shoulder yesterday, while Cooper Sharman will be sent for surgery after injuring his thumb.

Owens left the field in the second quarter of the Saints’ AAMI Community Series game against Port Adelaide on Saturday afternoon, taking no further part in the game.

“Mitch’s shoulder joint is stable, but his AC joint copped a knock in the incident,” EGM Football David Misson said

“The scans this morning were promising, but we’ll seek further advice from specialists to help assess the best course of action from here.”

Cooper Sharman also underwent scans following the game after injuring his thumb in the third quarter.

Scans today confirmed a fracture which will require surgery.

“Cooper will undergo surgery in the coming days, and we’ll assess his rehab window once that settles.”

In positive news, Rowan Marshall and Jack Sinclair completed a strong session yesterday and will be back in full training this week, while Zak Jones and Hunter Clark made their successful returns from injury via a VFL practice game yesterday.

A full injury update will be available on saints.com.au on Tuesday afternoon.
