Second-year players Angus Hastie and Hugo Garcia have shown their commitment to the Saints, extending their contracts through to the end of 2027.
Both Hastie and Garcia have made strong impressions in their burgeoning careers, despite having played just nine and five games, respectively.
“We’ve loved what we’ve seen from Angus and Hugo so far,” EGM Football David Misson said.
“We believe this extra security will allow both young men to focus on their footy and really hone their craft.
“Internally, we can’t wait to see what the next few years have in store for them, and I’m sure Saints fans feel the same way.”
Hastie joined the Saints via Pick No. 33 in the 2023 AFL Draft, with teammate Garcia following shortly after at Pick No. 50.
“It’s great to sign this new deal, especially alongside Hugo,” Hastie said.
“He and I have been really lucky to be welcomed into the club together—we've felt at home here since day one.
“As we head into the season, I just hope I can keep learning, be prepared for opportunities when they come along, and do everything I can to contribute to the team.”
Garcia echoed Hastie’s sentiments.
“At the club we’ve got some incredible coaches who have been really impactful on my time at the Saints so far,” Garcia said.
“When you’ve got guys like Lenny Hayes and Robert Harvey teaching you how to play in the midfield, you really can’t ask for anyone better to learn from!
“There’s a young group of us who are really invested in not only making sure we’re getting better as individuals but also, even though we’re young, driving the standards of the whole group.”
After uninterrupted pre-seasons, both Hastie and Garcia will be looking to put their hands up for selection when the Saints kick off their 2025 campaign against the Crows in Round 1.
