An injection of talent is potentially on the horizon for St Kilda, with a pair of young stars a test to face Geelong this Saturday.

Mitch Owens (shoulder) and Liam Henry (knee) will need to get through training this week to feature in the Saints' first home game of the season.

“Mitch was close last week, but we ultimately made the call to give his shoulder another week of rehabilitation,” EGM of Football David Misson said.

“Liam has been back at full training for a few weeks now, gradually building his capacity on the knee. He’ll be ready to go provided he’s cleared as match fit.”

St Kilda returned to the club today, with the full squad positively avoiding any injury disruptions in Adelaide.

The Saints will again miss forwards Max King (knee), Dan Butler (Achilles), and Cooper Sharman (thumb) on Saturday as the trio continue to manage their respective rehabilitation programs.

Meanwhile, Alix Tauru has made positive strides in his recovery, now in his second week of main training.

“It was great to see Alix join the main group last week. He showed promising signs, and we’ll gradually increase his load as he works towards being ready to play in the coming weeks.”
