St Kilda development coach and Sandringham assistant Paul Hudson sat down with SAINTS.com.au on Monday and discussed each and every St Kilda player who took the field in the Zebras' draw with Box Hill on the weekend.

Jason Holmes

He had a personal best as far as possessions go. He ended up with 12 touches and his tap work was tremendous again – he gave us first use. He’s definitely doing well in that area. He provided a contest and week by week he’s really improving with a few things. It’s pleasing to see.

Tom Simpkin
Tommy had seven tackles and 21 possessions down back and he was quite solid in defence. He’s definitely putting his hand up for selection because he’s been quite solid for three or four weeks now.

Terry Milera
It was good to see him bounce back and kick a couple of goals. Tez laid some tackles and kicked a couple of goals. He applied himself in all areas and ended with 27 possessions which is a good game obviously. He’s definitely doing everything he can.

Trent Dennis-Lane
Trent was good again across the board. He had five tackles and his defensive pressure in the forward 50 was especially pleasing, plus he had a couple of good chase-downs. He also kicked the one goal and was a pretty important player for us.

Tom Lee
Tommy Lee provided a real target for us up forward. Over the last two weeks we’ve started to see the fruits of his fitness base and the extra work he did earlier in the year. He was constantly moving and providing a target up forward. Tom took seven marks for the game and kicked 3.5 so he was definitely in amongst it.

Maverick Weller
We gave him a job to do on Benny Ross and he did that. Ben only had three touches in the first half and ended up having 12 for the game. Then we released Mav in the last quarter to try and win the game and he began to win his own footy. He tackled well and was good as always in tight.
Sam Dunell
Sam ended up taking 10 marks for the game and played an important link role for us up forward. Structurally you know what you are going to get with Sammy but unfortunately he gave away a 50 metre penalty late in the game. These things happen - there are always what ifs in drawn games. He got 21 possessions and did well.

Cameron Shenton
He probably didn’t get as much of the ball as he’s had over the last two weeks but what he did do was kick two goals and one behind from half-back. He gave us more offensive run this week and he stood firm when Box Hill were kicking with the wind.

Brodie Murdoch
Brodie spent some time up forward on the weekend and gradually worked his way into the game. His second half in particular was very good and it was pleasing to see him approach a new role so well.

Arryn Siposs
Sippo gave us something defensively and offensively this week which was great. He laid tackles, took five marks and kicked one goal and four behinds. They were long range shots and we all know how penetrating his kick is but this week he got himself into more dangerous positions.

Blake Acres
Blake did quite well in his first VFL game. He had 18 possessions and competed well in defence. What stood out was his decision-making ability. He was composed and measured and slotted in well, and gee, he reads the game well.

Jack Billings
Jack ended up having another good game, finishing with 29 possessions and seven marks. He got used around the ground well. You can’t question his ball use because he set up a few shots at goal just uses it so beautifully.

He’s improving every week on his defensive skills and it’s just about switching on and reading the play, but it’s great to see him get better every week. You notice Jack because he gets out and covers the ground more.

Adam Schneider
It was his first game of the season and he finished with 24 possessions and five tackles, mainly playing on the ball. He also pushed forward late and kicked a goal and took some good marks. It was not an overly noticeable 24 disposals game, so he was doing a lot of his work in close and we all know how sure-handed he is in there.

Seb Ross
I’m really pleased for Sebby. He managed to kick a few goals when he pushed forward. He rotated between there and the midfield and was rewarded with three goals and 24 possessions. That’s probably the most goals he’s kicked in a VFL game so he’s developing nicely.
