Excitement is building for the return of competitive football to Moorabbin with a special VFL and VFL Women’s double header scheduled for Sunday 5 May.
St Kilda’s future stars will return to where so many past champions made their name when RSEA Park hosts the Southern Saints' VFL Women’s Round 1 clash with Collingwood, and the Sandringham Zebras’ Round 5 clash with Frankston.
Thousands of fans are expected to converge on RSEA Park with a host of activities planned for the whole family, with the VFL Women’s clash kicking off at 12.00pm.
Boasting some recent big-name AFLW recruits, including star Cat Phillips, the Southern Saints will be hoping to start their campaign with a bang after a gruelling pre-season.
St Kilda’s bevy of exciting draftees will then take the field for the Zebras at 2.10pm, pitted against bayside neighbours Frankston.
Highly touted draftees Hunter Clark, Nick Coffield, Nick Hind and Robbie Young could potentially feature for the Zebras, depending on the make-up of the AFL side.
The quartet are all pushing for AFL selection but will enjoy a rest this weekend with the Zebras having the bye.
Entry to the double header will be free with plenty on offer to keep the family entertained.
The Saints Locker shop inside RSEA Park will also be open for business, with the latest range of merchandise available.
A jumping castle and Pepper Money face painting will be available for the young and young at heart, while there will also be plenty of giveaways thanks to Dare and Eukanuba.
