Saints pair Jack Steele and Max King have both received some clarity on their immediate playing futures, after further assessment today.
Steele, who dislocated his kneecap in a training incident last week, is unlikely to be available for selection for two-to-three weeks.
“Jack will start running this week which is really positive news,” General Manger of Football Simon Lethlean said.
“He has some inflammation in the knee-joint to overcome but shouldn’t be too far away from full training.”
Max King will also spend a few weeks on the sidelines, with further tests today confirming a syndesmosis injury to his right ankle.
“Max has escaped damage to his knee, which is a good result given our initial fears, but he has sustained a high ankle sprain,” Lethlean said.
“We’ll wait and see how the injury settles over the coming days, which will allow us to provide a more definitive timeframe for his return to footy.”
