Jack Steele is a strong chance to slot straight back into the St Kilda line-up for Maddie’s Match this weekend.

The midfield bull dislocated his kneecap at training last fortnight but has made an exceptionally quick recovery to thrust his name back into the selection conversation.

Steele is among five possible inclusions ahead of Sunday’s clash with Richmond, with Ben Paton, Nick Coffield, Ben Long and Sam Rowe also named as part of the extended bench.

The quartet was particularly strong for Sandringham last week in unfavourable conditions, with Rowe manning the number one ruck position in the absence of both Billy Longer and Lewis Pierce.

It is the first time the former Blue has been named in the squad this season, and should Rowe earn a spot in the final 22, Maddie’s Match will serve as his 100th career game.

The Saints have unfortunately been dealt another injury blow, this time to new recruit Dean Kent.

The former Demon sustained an injury to his left quad during Thursday’s training session, which will see him miss the remainder of the season.

Kent led the Saints for goal assists (13) and had booted 12 of his own from 13 outings.

Jonathon Marsh rounds out the remaining omissions for Round 15.
