It was the tightest vote count of Season 2019 to date, but young gun Saint Hunter Clark has emerged as the Round 18 Dare Iced Coffee Sainter of the Round.
Clark edged out livewire small forward Jack Lonie by a mere 11 points in the fan-voted award, with in-form big man Rowan Marshall rounding out the top three.
The knife-edge poll typified the team performance against the Bulldogs, with numerous Saints stiff to miss out on the podium.
But it was the Saints’ emerging star in Hunter Clark who shone brightest, putting together a career-best performance in red, white and black as his side downed the Dogs.
It was an electric start from the 20-year-old, whose toughness and composure were complemented by a coolly-converted set shot from outside 50m to end the first term.
Clark went on to rack up 26 disposals (six contested) and gain a career-high 533 metres, as well as nailing a vital major on the cusp of half-time.
Dynamo Jack Lonie bounced back after an unusually quiet performance against the Cats, booting three goals in a blistering opening quarter.
The gutsy No. 13 added a fourth to open the final term and prove his importance to the side, finishing his day with 20 disposals and 11 score involvements.
Rowan Marshall continues to take strides in what has been a break-out year for the emerging ruckman.
His ability to influence at ground level was evident as ever as he picked up 21 possessions (14 contested) at 76% efficiency, 32 hit-outs and six clearances.
With only five games remaining, Marshall is closing in on ladder-leader Jack Billings, sitting just one vote shy of the star midfielder.
The Saints return to Marvel Stadium this Saturday night to take on the Demons at 7.25pm.
