The Saints will hope to return to the winners’ list in their final home game for the year when they take on Fremantle.

St Kilda’s young contingent have shown plenty in Season 2019, but with several seasoned campaigners beckoning for a return, could they be the answer in toppling the Dockers?

Jimmy Webster is firming for a comeback after two consistent performances in the VFL.

READ: Webster pushes recall case

Niggling back and hand injuries have limited his time in the senior side, with the 25-year-old last pulling on the red, white and black in Round 8.

While the Saints have found defensive gems in Callum Wilkie and Josh Battle, Webster’s return would be a welcome addition.

The larrikin Saint averaged 21 disposals and five rebounds per game last season to poll in the top-ten of the 2018 Trevor Barker Award.

INJURY UPDATE: Round 21

Dan Hannebery is also in the mix after overcoming a bout of gastro.

The triple All Australian is itching for a return to the senior side, with hamstring injuries and a block of intensive conditioning limiting him to just two games this year.

Jack Newnes and Ben Paton have also recovered from illness and will thrust their names into the selection conversation.

Jade Gresham’s absence through injury (eye socket) could open the door for either one of the trio, but another fan-favourite Saint is also knocking on the door to take his spot.

Four-time Trevor Barker Award winner Jack Steven could line up against Fremantle after three successive games for Sandringham.

The No. 3 has played just the four games this season after taking time away to focus on his mental health, yet the midfield ace is chomping at the bit for an end-of-season return.

SAINTER OF THE ROUND: Rowan Marshall leads the way

Utility Blake Acres is recovering well from a shoulder injury sustained against Melbourne and could find himself in the selection frame should he pass Thursday’s training.

Jonathon Marsh featured prominently in Sandringham’s defeat to Essendon last Saturday, with the sturdy backman collecting 20 disposals and seven marks, while Ed Phillips racked up a team-high 25 possessions to put forward a strong case for a senior recall.

St Kilda will host Fremantle at Marvel Stadium this Sunday at 1:10pm.
