St Kilda has added two more talents to its inaugural AFLW list, with Caitlin Greiser and Sammie Johnson set to join the red, white and black in 2020.
The duo were signed earlier in the week, taking the Saints’ count to 20 signed players.
Originally from a soccer striker background, Greiser’s potency in front of goal has translated to AFL.
The forward powerhouse has kicked a team-high 17 majors for the Southern Saints this season and sits third in the VFLW goalkicking tally, with three-goal bags against Darebin and Footscray among her best performances.
Greiser was given the news of her elevation by Brett Ratten, with her hard work and dedication amounting to a spot on St Kilda’s list.

A strong mark and able to outmuscle her opponents at ground level, the former Melbourne University talent has shown she has the skills in making it at the elite level.
Johnson meanwhile brings the flair, with her fast hands, athleticism and bullish presence a key component in the Southern Saints’ successes across the past two seasons.
Along with co-captain Ali Drennan, the runner-up in last year’s Best and Fairest has willed Peta Searle’s women into attack on many occasions.

Two best-on-ground performances against Casey – which saw a combined 43 disposals and 11 tackles – have highlighted her importance to the Saints, with several other notable performances complementing her midfield ascendancy.
More recently, the former basketballer has shown her prowess as a tagger, limiting the influence of some of the competition’s most dangerous players.
Greiser and Johnson will have big roles to play when the Southern Saints face Collingwood this Saturday in the VFLW qualifying final.
