What is the Next Generation Academy?
The AFL Next Generation Academies (NGA’s) are a joint initiative between the AFL and AFL clubs aimed at the attraction, retention and development of all talented players (male & female) whilst growing participation in the under-represented segments of our community. A key objective of the NGA’s is to increase the talent pool of multicultural and indigenous players. AFL clubs are incentivised through draft concessions for these players for the role in developing them through the program.
What is the Saints Next Generation Academy?
For St Kilda Football Club, our NGA is focused on both talent and community. Our allocated NGA zone is the bayside region of Melbourne. With such a strong footballing region we have separated our zone into 2 hubs and work closely with the following community football partners within the 2 hubs:
Northern Hub: Sandringham Dragons & South Metro Junior Football League
Southern Hub: Dandenong Southern Stingrays & Frankston & District Junior Football League
