JUSTIN Koschitzke had a difficult season with injury taking its toll on the iconic Saint.

But as the curtain fell on his 200-game career, he returned for one last hurrah at Etihad Stadium against Fremantle in round 23.

Koschitzke came on as the sub late in the contest and took six strong grabs and booted four behinds, the last of which was agonisingly close and just shaved the inside of the post.

It was the last of his five games for 2013, following matches against Sydney, Collingwood, Melbourne and Richmond.

In the historic Anzac Day clash against the Swans, the 31-year-old became the first AFL player to boot a home and away goal outside of Australia.

Forward-line coach Adam Kingsley:

“A fantastic finish to his career. He played his role in the last quarter and he finishes his time in footy as one of 27 players to play 200 games for the Saints and this speaks volumes about the person he is and the career he’s had.

He led really well this year even when he wasn’t in the senior team and really helped out some of the young players.”
