Goddard made high-contact with Wright in an off-ball incident with ten minutes remaining in the last term.
Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from the North Melbourne Football Club, the incident was assessed as intentional conduct (three points), medium impact (two points) and high contact (two points).
Goddard can accept a two-match sanction with an early plea given he has no existing good or bad record.
Meanwhile, Brett Peake has accepted a reprimand in the VFL after being charged with using an obscene gesture during Sandringham’s Round 14 match against Port Melbourne on Saturday.
