St Kilda’s five high-profile recruits will join forces with Dan Hannebery in Sunday’s Marsh Community Series match against Collingwood.
Bradley Hill, Dougal Howard, Paddy Ryder, Zak Jones and Dan Butler will all represent the tricolours at Morwell Recreation Reserve, while Max King and Dylan Roberton have also been named to face a full-strength Magpie outfit.
Roberton, Jones and Hannebery join captain Jarryn Geary as the four big inclusions from the first Marsh Community Series game at RSEA Park.
A host of experienced Saints and promising youngsters not selected for Sunday’s match will press their claims for a Round 1 berth in a practice match tomorrow against Collingwood VFL at the Holden Centre from 12:00pm.
Jimmy Webster (managed) will not play any football this weekend, but isn’t considered in doubt for Round 1, while Oscar Clavarino and draftees Leo Connolly and Jack Bell have all been rested.
Jake Carlisle will also be unavailable for selection after family commitments limited his preparations this week.
An injury-free Carlisle trained strongly on Friday morning, and will continue to finalise his pre-season on the training track in the coming weeks.
St Kilda will face Collingwood on Sunday 9 March at Morwell Recreation Reserve, beginning at 3:50pm.
