Zak Jones will miss Friday night’s clash with the Giants with a hamstring injury.
The St Kilda midfielder reported soreness following the Round 17 clash against the West Coast Eagles, with subsequent scans revealing a minor strain.
St Kilda Chief Operating Officer Simon Lethlean said while the injury wasn’t serious, Jones would be missing for what shapes to be a finals-like match.
“Zak has become an important part of our midfield this year but we know that all teams are dealing with injuries to key players and we will need someone to step up and fill the void,” Lethlean said.
“We will weigh up the best option to replace Zak and trust whoever does come in to do the job.”
The Saints’ main training session will be held Wednesday with the team announced on Thursday night.
