St Kilda swingman Josh Battle will miss Saturday’s elimination final with foot soreness.
Battle failed to join his teammates in the club’s main training session today in Maroochydore and will instead set his sights on a potential semi-final should the Saints make it through.
The 22-year-old reported soreness following the Round 18 win over the Giants and has been on a modified training program since.
Chief Operating Officer Simon Lethlean said Battle was now aiming for a potential semi-final return.
“Josh has been improving but won’t quite have done enough to be available this week,” Lethlean said.
“We had hoped it would settle in time but with him unable to train fully today, our job is to make sure he has a chance to return by overcoming the Dogs on Saturday.”
