Defender Callum Wilkie has capped off an impressive two seasons in red, white and black by penning a two-year contract extension.
The mature-age recruit has been one of the Saints’ most reliable forces since joining the club, with his defensive efforts and leadership galvanising the back six.
Wilkie is yet to miss a senior game after making his debut in Round 1, 2019, and just two days ago, was voted into St Kilda's leadership group for 2021.
“We’re rapt to have Cal put pen to paper,” Head of List Management James Gallagher said.
“Since he’s come into the side, he’s become an integral part of our backline and that will no doubt continue moving forward.
“Last season we saw Cal really accelerate his leadership. Alongside fellow backman Dougal Howard, he has been enormous when it comes to setting the standards for the entire group.
“It’s testament to Cal’s work ethic and professionalism that he’s been able to achieve what he has from starting out as a mature-age rookie.
“We’re looking forward to seeing what he’ll produce in 2021 and are certain he’ll deliver well into the future.”
Wilkie was initially selected by the Saints with pick No. 3 in the 2019 Rookie Draft and has gone on to finish in the top-10 in the past two Trevor Barker Award counts.
