The fans have spoken, and as voted by you, Jack Steele is this week’s Dare Iced Coffee Sainter of the Round.
Despite the skipper’s milestone match resulting in heavy defeat, Steele – who polled an overwhelming 90 per cent of the votes – continued to fight through Essendon’s attack.
The reliable on-baller was influential in the clinches, leading the Saints with 35 disposals (15 contested), seven clearances and a goal.
Steele shouldered the bulk of the workload in the second half, registering a goal – his fourth of the season – and amassing 21 touches as he attempted to drag his side into the contest.
Two votes go to Jake Carlisle, who competed strongly in his first game for the year against his former side.
Carlisle collected 13 disposals (10 contested), four clearances and 15 hit-outs, sharing the ruck duties alongside ex-Bomber Shaun McKernan.
The No. 2 was equally effective floating between the attacking and defensive arcs, adding six intercepts and six score involvements to his name.
Jack Billings rounds out this week’s voting off the back of his two-goal display at Marvel Stadium.
The wingman dealt most of his damage early in the piece, closing out the match with 17 disposals at over 80 per cent efficiency.
