The fans have had their say, and Georgia Patrikios has been voted into the AFLW Players’ Association 22Under22 side for the second year in a row.

Patrikios was one of nine players voted into the fan-voted line-up for a second time alongside fellow Best & Fairest winners Chloe Molloy (Collingwood) and Monique Conti (Richmond).

The 20-year-old – named in the centre – was additionally featured in 84 per cent of teams picked by supporters across the league.

The 22Under22 side aims to acknowledge the best players aged 22 and under, with the concept first introduced to the AFLW last season.

During her sterling second season at the elite level, Patrikios averaged over 24 disposals per game – up from 16 in her maiden campaign – and topped St Kilda’s numbers for disposals, clearances and metres gained.

Tonight could also see the young Saint earn selection in the All-Australian side and poll well at the 2021 W Awards. The top-five draftee was earlier picked in the 2021 AFL Women’s Team of the Year alongside Hannah Priest and was nominated for the AFLW Players' Association Most Valuable Player.

This season’s 40-woman squad – selected with support from Champion Data – featured Saints Tyanna Smith, Tarni White and Claudia Whitfort.

The AFLW Players’ Association 22Under22 was first introduced in 2020, while a retrospective line-up was named at the end of last season to acknowledge the competition’s best talents between 2017-2019.
