After banking an important four-points against North Melbourne, St Kilda will be looking to make it two wins on the trot against a strong Sydney outfit this Saturday afternoon.

With Victoria's COVID-19 situation forcing the Saints to New South Wales and Round 12 moved to the SCG as a result, the Saints will need to bring their A-game to topple their in-form opposition, who have dropped just one game on their home deck this season.

Hunter Clark

Passing this week's fitness test is the only hurdle Hunter Clark will have to overcome before he's given the green light to return.

The composed half-back sat out Round 11 with groin soreness, with his cleanliness out of defence missed as the Saints scraped through for a 20-point win against the Kangaroos.

Clark has averaged 22 disposals and five intercepts per game in 2021 and – even after missing last week's match – sits third in the club's effective disposals count (163).

The No. 11 was particularly influential when the Saints and Swans met at the Gabba in 2020, collecting 20 disposals and threading an impressive goal on his non-preferred in the ardent victory.

Jack Bytel

If another sturdy body inside is what's needed to combat the Swans' midfield, Jack Bytel is the man who fits the bill.

The 21-year-old was omitted in favour of Luke Dunstan for the opening week of Sir Doug Nicholls Round, but was listed as an emergency for Round 11.

Bytel has been listed on the senior team-sheet for all but two matches this year, with his tackling presence a noticeable feature in majority of his appearances.

With the Harbour City set for a few showers in the lead-up to Saturday afternoon, it could create the ideal conditions for the inside mid, who was superb in the club's season opener at a saturated GIANTS Stadium with 13 disposals, 10 tackles and six clearances.

James Frawley

After making his red, white and black debut three weeks ago, James Frawley will be keen to add to his tally this weekend.

A shoulder injury forced the veteran out of the side last Saturday, and like Hunter Clark, he'll have to pass a fitness test to be considered for senior selection.

Frawley's addition and experience could be key against the Bloods, with their forward line boasting ruck/forwards Hayden McLean and Callum Sinclair, along with four-time Coleman medallist Lance Franklin.

Surprisingly, Frawley has only played at the SCG four times in his 241-game career.

In Contention

Ben Long will be in the hunt for a senior recall in time for the second week of Sir Doug Nicholls Round.

The half-back has been on the outer for the past month, with his last senior game coming in Round 9 against Geelong.

Following Oscar Clavarino’s debut last Saturday, Leo Connolly could also be an option to join his defensive partner in the side.

Connolly and Clavarino have worked well together in the backline for Sandringham in recent weeks, with Clavarino’s aerial plays complimenting Connolly’s run-and-carry off half-back.

Meanwhile, Paul Hunter still remains a chance to partner with Paddy Ryder in the ruck following the injury to Rowan Marshall two weeks ago.
