The fans have spoken, and as voted by you, Jack Higgins is this week’s Dare Iced Coffee Sainter of the Round.
Higgins gave his all in what was arguably his strongest performance in St Kilda colours, collecting 23 disposals, a game-high 12 marks (five inside-50) and 12 score involvements as the Saints fell just short at the SCG.
With Tim Membrey swinging into defence throughout the game and Max King restricted to the forward-50 with a back issue, the No. 22 impressed through his presentation and strong marking between the arcs.
Higgins led the Saints’ attack with seven shots on goal, but only had the one major to show by the final siren despite his noticeable presence.
The 22-year-old sits just behind Membrey for total goals this season (17) and sits third for total score involvements.
Two votes go to Tim Membrey, who was particularly influential at both ends of the ground.
The co-vice-captain proved effective as a tall target up forward with two goals, but was just as decisive as the spare man in defence in the back-end of each quarter.
Membrey reeled in four intercept marks on the last line of defence, helping ward off several Sydney advances as his side kept in touch with their steely opposition.
Brad Crouch rounds out this week’s voting after securing a game-high 38 disposals (14 contested) at almost 80 per cent efficiency.
The No. 5 was again sturdy in the clinches, adding to his solid afternoon with 12 score involvements, seven clearances, seven tackles and five inside-50s.
Crouch has polled in the fan-voted Dare Sainter of the Round in three of the past four matches.
