ST KILDA has added Luke Dunstan, Tom Simpkin, Jimmy Webster and Daniel Markworth to its injury list.
Dunstan, who played 16 games in 2014 but needed shoulder surgery towards the end of the year, suffered a minor injury that isn’t expected to linger for any more than a fortnight.
“Luke rolled his ankle at training yesterday and it’s a pretty basic strain,” GM of Football Performance Jamie Cox told SAINTS.com.au.
“Everyone is reasonably positive about it but it is bad enough for him to miss this week. We’re hopeful that he will play next week with no long-term side effects and there is no structural damage.”
Fellow hard-man Tom Simpkin did not take part in Saturday’s intra club, instead continuing his rehab following minor knee surgery.
The combative swingman has played 31 games for St Kilda since his debut in 2011 and cut his teeth in the forward-line late last year after spending the vast majority of his career in defence.

“Tom’s rehab is progressing well,” Cox said.
“He’s on track to be available for selection ahead of our NAB 2 game against Essendon in Morwell.”
Daniel Markworth’s shoulder complaint is not expected to sideline the athletic wingman/forward for too long, and like Simpkin and Dunstan, will be assessed further next week.
“Daniel damaged his right shoulder during the intra club. It isn’t overly serious although there is some slight damage,” Cox said.
“He should be ok and won’t miss much football, in fact we expect him to be available for NAB 2 but we’ll assess that again after this weekend.”

Meanwhile, Jimmy Webster is expected to miss around a month with a damaged tendon in his right ring finger.
The skilful half-back amassed a game-high 22 disposals on Saturday and underwent minor surgery earlier this week.

In some good news, ruckman Tom Hickey has resumed training following extensive knee rehabilitation.
“Tom is likely to be available for NAB 2.
“He’s back training so now it’s just about getting his fitness load back up to match standard so he’s ready for round one.”
FEATURE: Hickey's wait is almost over
Sam Gilbert’s foot, Brodie Murdoch’s back and Arryn Siposs’ shoulder continue to be treated and the timeframe for their respective returns hasn’t changed.
